Eotaxin-3 mRNA expression in human colonic myofibroblasts. (a) Colonic myofibroblasts, derived from normal mucosa, were stimulated with cytokines (100 ng/ml) for 24 h. Eotaxin-3 mRNA expression was then analysed by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). (b) Eotaxin-3 protein expression in interleukin (IL)-4 or IL-13 stimulated cells. The cells were grown on culture slides and stimulated with cytokines (100 ng/ml) for 24 h. Eotaxin-3 was stained with anti-eotaxin-3 antibodies. (c) Comparison of eotaxin-3 mRNA expression in intestinal epithelial cell lines (HT-29 and Caco-2 cells) and colonic myofibroblasts. The cells were stimulated with cytokines (100 ng/ml) for 24 h.
