(a) Schematic midsagittal corpus callosum indicating the division into four subregions: rostrum, anterior midbody, posterior midbody and splenium. The caudal border of the rostrum was marked by a tangent line at the bend of the genu. An identical line dividing the rostral boundary of the body and splenium was placed at the concave bend of the genu. The length of the midline body between these lines was divided in half to mark the anterior and posterior body.
