Paraffin-embedded gastric tissue from seven non-infected and nine H. pylori-infected human subjects was quantitatively analyzed for HLA-DR+ mononuclear phagocytes, TUNEL+ apoptotic cells/cell fragments and DAPI+ nuclei.
