Responses of wild-type (WT) and Calca knockout (KO) mice to pneumonic challenges. (A) WT (n = 13) and KO (n = 14) mice were exposed to aerosolized Streptococcus pneumoniae (6.0 × 1010 CFU/ml for 60 min), and survival was measured after 7 days.
