Antigen-specific CD8 T cells in HIV-1 are CD161−CD8α+CD8β^high and CD161−CD8α+CD8β^low. (A) HLA-B*42:01 tetramer positive CD8 T cell responses in a individual patient with HIV-1 demonstrates antigen-specific T cells are found in both the CD161−CD8α+CD8β^low and CD161−CD8α+CD8β^high populations of peripheral blood.
