Constitutive active FXR induces ADH1A and ADH1B expression. Huh7 cells were infected with increasing multiplicity of infection (MOI) of adenovirus expressing either VP16 (AdVP16) or a constitutively active chimera of VP16 and FXR (AdVP16FXR) for 48 h. Specific mRNA levels of ADH1A, ADH1B, and ADH1C were determined by real-time quantitative PCR, normalized to 18S content, and expressed relative to controls, which were set as 1 (mean ± SEM). *P < 0.05; **P < 0.01; ***P < 0.001 versus 25 MOI AdVP16.
