Numerical simulations of the transmembrane potential drop through a cell membrane (C…C in Figure 3b). In (a), the gap between the NFP and cell membrane is 8 nm for both one- and two-probe NFP systems, and the transmembrane potential drop for both cases is identical despite the fact that the two-probe NFP case has one opened probe (as shown in Figure 3a).
