Three-step Hierarchichal Regression Model Predicting PTSD Symptoms as a Function of IAT scores and Explicit Negative Self Cognitions

B SE t p-value Cohen’s D

Total PTSD Symptoms
Step 1 R2 = .45
 Gender 2.57 1.17 2.20 .03 .26
 Trauma Exposure 1.21 0.23 5.19 < .001 .61
 Explicit Cognitions 0.33 0.03 13.23 < .001 1.57
Step 2 ΔR2 = .02
 IAT Scores 6.06 1.71 3.54 < .001 .42
Step 3 ΔR2 = .01
 Explicit Cognitions x 0.15 0.07 2.27 .02 .27
IAT Scores

Note. N = 289. Predictors other than gender were mean-centered. Gender was coded 0 = male, 1 = female. Trauma Exposure = number of traumatic events endorsed. Explicit cognitions = the negative self subscale of the Posttraumatic Cognitions Inventory (Foa et al., 1999). Higher IAT scores = stronger associations with me and traumatized.
