Mediator localizes to the pericentromeres to recruit RNAPII for efficient transcription. Furthermore, Mediator regulates processing of transcribed ncRNA by RNAi machineries, which directs heterochromatin formation. In addition, Mediator is also required for Rrp6-dependent heterochromatin formation. For details, see Discussion.
