Inhibition of CBS in stress-induced HHcy Rats. a CBS enzyme activity in blood, hearts, livers and kidneys from control and stressed rats was measured. It was found that both plasma and blood cells showed almost undetectable CBS activity, as did hearts. The highest CBS enzyme activity was found in normal rat livers, and the next highest in rat kidney (n = 8, **p < 0.01 compared with liver). b CBS activity in livers of rats subjected to stress was decreased.
