Mice were immunized intranasally (i.n.) or subcutaneously (s.c.) with formalin-inactivated H1N1 (A), H3N2 (B), H5N1 (C), H7N7 (D), H9N2 (E), or H13N6 (F) viruses. Serum, TW, and NW samples were collected 7 days after the last immunization. Samples from each group were pooled and diluted at 1∶100 (serum), 1∶3.5 (TW and NW) with 1% skim milk in PBST. HA-specific IgG and IgA antibodies were detected by ELISA as described in the Materials and Methods section.
