Experimental setup. The 5-MHz linear array imaging probe and the 750-kHz therapeutic array transducer were mounted on opposite sides of the agar phantoms/tissues in a tank of degassed water (25 to 35% of normal saturation determined by pO2). The imager was synchronized with the therapeutic array driving system. Lesions were produced by mechanically scanning the therapy focus in a 5 × 5 grid with 1-mm spacing.
