Tropoelastin-induced signaling pathways involve EBP and PKA. Tropoelastin signaling is mediated through the EBP (A–E) and involves the intracellular mediator PKA (F–J). MMP-12 (A, F), CXCL8 (B, G), CXCL5 (C, H), and CXCL1 (D, I) expression was significantly reduced in the presence of lactose, a competitive binding ligand for EBP and H-89, a specific inhibitor of PKA.
