Fig 4 — Internalization of B. burgdorferi by CHO-CR3 cells is facilitated by β-glucans. (A) RAW264.7 cells were incubated with 1 mM barley β-glucan (orange histogram), Laminarin β-glucan (green histogram) or S. cerevisiae β-glucan (red histogram) and Bb914 (m.o.i. = 25) for 4 hours. Control cells (black histogram) were incubated with Bb914. (B) CHO-CR3 cells were incubated with 1 mM S. cerevisiae β-glucan and Bb914 for 4 hours. The cells were fixed, stained with phalloidin Alexa Fluor 594 and analyzed by confocal microscopy. The results presented are representative of 3 experiments preformed in triplicate.
