Sections were dual-labelled with BgTx-R (red) to identify ACh receptors at the NMJ (A,D,G) and with the specific A₃ antibody, visualized with Atto-488 (green) conjugated secondary antibody (B,E,H). In innervated muscles (A–F), A₃ receptors were localized at the NMJ (B,C,E,F), whereas in denervated muscles (G–I) no labelling was observed with the A₃ antibody (H,I). Scale bar 5 μm.
