Micrograph of mycelia and isolated knobs of M. haptotylum. M. haptotylum was grown in aerated liquid cultures. After 10 days, when sufficient numbers of traps (knobs) had formed and detached from the mycelia, the knobs were separated as previously described (8). (A) Mycelia after knobs had been filtered; a small number of knobs (arrow) are still attached to the mycelia. Bar, 20 μm. (B) Knobs separated from mycelia. Bar, 20 μm.
