The effect of myrPKCα on EGF-stimulated AKT and ERK activation in rat goblet cells. Cultured rat conjunctival goblet cells were serum starved for 24 hours and either stimulated with EGF (10⁻⁷ M) for 5 minutes, transduced with an adenovirus containing myristolyated (active) PKCα (myrPKCα) for 22 hours, or both. Western blot analysis was performed using antibodies against phosphorylated AKT, total AKT, phosphorylated ERK, and total ERK (A). The blots shown are representative of three independent experiments.
