HUVECs were stimulated with 10 ng/ml of TNF-α alone (−) or stimulated with TNF-α in the presence of the different compounds shown in figure 6. Cells that were left untreated (medium) served as control. The expression of VCAM-1 and HO-1 was assessed by western blotting. GAPDH was used as loading control. The results of a representative experiment are shown. A total of 3 independent experiments with different HUVEC cultures were performed.
