Effects of 5,14-HEDGE and 20-HEDE on changes in nitrotyrosine levels in (A) serum, (B) kidney, (C) heart, (D) thoracic aorta, and (E) superior mesenteric artery measured 4 h after saline (vehicle) (4 ml/kg, i.p.) or LPS (10 mg/kg, i.p.) injection to conscious rats. 5,14-HEDGE (30 mg/kg, s.c.) and/or 20-HEDE (30 mg/kg, s.c.) were given 1 h after administration of saline or LPS. Nitrotyrosine levels in sera and tissue homogenates were measured by the Nitrotyrosine ELISA Kit following the manufacturer’s instructions. Data are expressed as means ± S.E.M of 4–8 animals. aSignificant difference from the corresponding value seen in rats treated with saline (p < 0.05). bSignificant difference from the corresponding value seen in the rats treated with LPS (p < 0.05). cSignificant difference from the corresponding value seen in the rats treated with LPS and 5,14-HEDGE (p < 0.05).
