Metformin enhances the expressions of anti-inflammatory cytokines in macrophages. RAW 264.7 cells (A) and peritoneal macrophages (B) were cultured with different concentrations of metformin (0.5, 1, 2, and 4 mM) in the presence of LPS (1 µg/ml) for 24 hours.
