Effects of NOS inhibition alone and in combination with cyclooxygenase inhibition reactive hyperemia after 5 min of brachial artery occlusion. The upper panel shows the absolute blood flow values and the lower panel shows the change from baseline, an important consideration because NOS inhibition reduces baseline FBF. NOS inhibition had little impact on the rise in forearm blood flow above baseline immediately following the restoration of flow to the forearm. However, it did speed the recovery of flow to baseline.
