S. aureus strain 8325−4 was grown exponentially at 37°C in LB medium. Peptide III-6 was added at 50 μ/m1 (MIC value) and incubation continued for 4 hours. Cells were stained with DAPI prior to fluorescence microscopy (Materials and Methods).
