Figure 8. Peptides III-5 and III-6 lead to cell death in S. aureus and B. subtilis.

S. aureus strain 8325-4 and B. subtilis strain 168 were grown exponentially in LB medium at 37°C. Peptides III-5 and III-6 were added at their MIC values (50 μg/m1) and incubation continued for 6 hours. Cells were live/dead stained with the BacLight system (Materials and Methods) prior to fluorescence microscopy.
