The arrival of helium induces a voltage shift in thermistor output, and the amplitude of this shift in the posterior thoracic (PTAS) and interclavicular air sacs (ICAS) is positively correlated. Two examples for different, quietly perched zebra finches are shown (filled and open circles). The r2 values indicate that a substantial portion of the variance is explained by this relationship.
