(A) Strains (Table 1) were grown overnight to stationary phase in SC medium, spotted in a 10-fold dilution series onto SC plates, and incubated at 24°C for 3 days. (B) Doubling times in SC liquid medium at 24°C were determined as described in Materials and Methods. Means and standard deviations from three independent experiments are shown for each strain.
