The patient made speeded squeeze responses according to the direction of the target presented on each trial (all trial types were equiprobable). (A) Shows the trial sequence for short SOA blocks, and (B) shows the trial sequence for long SOA blocks. The target arrowheads appeared 5 degrees of visual angle either to the left, right, or above the centre of the screen. All trial types were equiprobable. A left hand squeeze response to left-pointing target, prime compatible trials are shown here. Note that the mask and target were each presented for the same total time in both short and long SOA conditions.
