An absorption spectrum of bR nanodiscs was recorded. The absorption maximum of about 550 nm indicated correctly folded bR. The spectrum showed a maximum at 546 nm indicating bR to be predominantly in the monomeric state, whereas a maximum at 558 nm would have indicated a trimeric state.
