HS-ASA decreases β-catenin levels. Jurkat and SW480 cells were treated with increasing concentrations of HS-ASA or ASA for 24 h and analyzed for total β-catenin expression by immunoblot of the lysates. Panels (A) and (C) show concentration-dependent reductions of β-catenin in Jurkat and SW80 cells respectively; panel (B) shows that increasing concentrations of ASA had no effect on total β-catenin in Jurkat cells. The blots were reprobed for α-actin. The blots are representative of 3 different experiments, the bar graphs in (A) and (C) are mean ± SEM of three different blots normalized against their respective α-actin. *P < 0.05 compared to no treatment.
