Bacterial loads in the colon tissues of tissue-specific p38α-deficient mice. Control (p38αfl/fl), or (A) T cell-specific (p38αΔT, n = 6), (B) macrophage- (p38αΔMAC, n = 6), or (C) DC-specific (p38αΔDC, n = 5-6) mice were orally inoculated with C. rodentium. Colon tissues were collected to measure C. rodentium CFU after 1, 2, 3 or 4 weeks after infection. *, p<0.05, and **, p<0.01. Error bars indicate s.d.
