Contribution of the surfaces to the spherical aberration. (A) Spherical aberration of the lens with GRIN compared with that of a homogeneous lens with index equal to the surface refractive index as a function of back vertex power. (B) Contribution of the surface to the magnitude of Spherical aberration as a function of back vertex power. (C) Change in absolute value of spherical aberration of the lens compared with that of the surfaces from unaccommodated to fully accommodated. (D) Relative contribution of the surface and GRIN to the change of spherical aberration with accommodation.
