Effects of S-allyl cysteine (SAC) administration on changes in body weight. Long-Evans Tokushima Otsuka (LETO) and Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty (OLETF) rats were fed control chow and divided into 4 groups at 29 weeks after checking the body weight of all rats (control: LETO, SAC diet: LETO-SAC, OLETF, OLETF-SAC). SAC was given via a 0.45% dietary mixture from 29 weeks of age. Control: open circle; OLETF: closed circle; OLETF-SAC: triangle. LETO-SAC data are not shown because the changes were the same as that of the control group. Values are means ± SEM (n = 5–6).
