Evaluation of serum liver transaminase levels (alanine aminotransaminase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransaminase (AST)) in treated and control dogs. Blood was collected from all experimental and sham-treated dogs 24 hours post-surgery. A complete blood count and chemistry panel was performed. Most analytes were found to be within normal limits. Liver enzymes, (a) ALT and (b) AST, were found to be slightly elevated in ultrasound (US)-treated animals. Dog 3 showed higher ALT and AST levels, which could be due to the higher US pressures used in treatment.
