The extent of sucrose translocation was measured using ¹⁴C-sucrose, as a radiotracer. The fixed quantity of ¹⁴C-sucrose was injected at the defined point in control and TU treatment. At 2 d after injection, immediate upper and lower leaf of injection, root and pod were harvested and ¹⁴C-sucrose level was quantified using scintillation counting. The values represent mean ± SD of three independent biological replicates. The significance of mean difference (P<0.05) was evaluated on the basis of student t-test and marked with asterisk (*).
