Dissociated neurons were plated on substrate formed by binding histone H1, histone H3, and poly-D lysine to culture dishes at 1.25, 2.5, 5 and 10 μg/ml. Growth on immobilized histone H1 and poly-D-lysine was significantly increased at 5 and 10 μg/ml (one way ANOVA with Bonferroni’s post hoc correction) but was independent of substratum levels of histone H3.
