The HiRet vector encoding the GFP transgene (5.0 X 10¹¹ copies/ml) was injected into the gastrocnemius muscles of the hindlimb (5.0 μl/site, six sites) or the tongue muscles (2.0 μl/site, four sites) of mice. Four weeks later, their hindlimb and tongue were processed and sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Sections through the muscles prepared from the non-injected mice were used for the control experiments. Scale bar: 200 µm.
