UTI increased the number of Nissl-stained neurons and decreased the number of TUNEL-positive cells in the cortex. Nissl staining indicated that rat cortical cell numbers in the VF + PBS group were significantly lower than in the VF + PBS group 72 h after ROSC (A, B).
