FIGURE 2

Endothelial barrier dysfunction is inhibited by expression of constitutively active Pak1 mediated by recombinant adenovirus (AdPak1) through dephosphorylation of MLC20. (A) Pak1 reduces thrombin mediated decrease of trans-endothelial electrical resistance as measured by ECIS; (B) Bar graph representation of results in A indicates that resistance drop induced by thrombin is rescued by Pak1; (C) Pak1 reduces phosphorylation of myosin regulatory light chain (MLC20) at both threonine 18 and serine19 through activation of PP2A. M, phosphorylated MLC20 as marker; Ctrl, control; AdPak1, recombinant adenovirus expressing constitutively active Pak1.
