Average values for minute ventilation recorded during the last 5 min of baseline 2 and during the last 2 min of the first hypoxic episode of the intermittent hypoxia protocol presented on the initial and final days in the morning and evening. Note that minute ventilation under baseline conditions and during exposure to hypoxia was greater in the evening compared with the morning.
