The dependent variable is the resident abortion rate for abortions performed in New York from 1971–1975 in 48 states and the District of Columbia. Alaska and Hawaii are not included. Distance is in hundreds of miles. The marginal effect of distance in rows 2 and 3 shows the change in abortion rates associated with an increase of 100 miles between the designated distances. Standard errors adjusted for clustering at the state level are in parentheses.
