(b) Low-power photomicrograph (original magnification, ×20; hematoxylin-eosin stain) shows that the tumor arises in the submucosa but infiltrates into the mucosa (arrowheads), forming a polypoid lesion. The tumor is composed of bland spindle cells with an inflammatory component.
