The filled boxes represent the presence of spacers, and the empty boxes represent the absence of spacers. Spoligotyping of the 130 isolates produced 49 distinct patterns: Of these, 37 of had a unique pattern while the remaining 93 (71.5%) isolates were grouped into 12 clusters of strains possessing at least two isolates. The cluster size varied from 2 to 34 patients. Eighteen patterns of the 49 unique patterns were not previously reported. The most commonly patterns were SIT149, SIT53, and SIT37 each consisting of 34, 15, and 9 isolates, respectively. The most predominant lineage was Euro-American consisting of 78.5% of the isolates while 17.7% of the isolates were East African Indian.
