(A) Model 1 illustrates the hypothesis that known peptides including Head Peptide-I and sNPFs signal through an unknown receptor (“Receptor X”) and that NPYLR1 is not involved in the inhibition of host-seeking behavior. (B) Model 2 illustrates the hypothesis that a combinatorial network of redundant mechanisms for behavioral inhibition may exist after blood-feeding.
