The unfiltered curve does not depend on the relative size of the oscillating volume and stays relatively constant (SNR < 0.5). PCA filtering results in significant improvement of the temporal fluctuation SNR when the oscillating volume is relatively large but as the size of the oscillating volume decreases the curves converge to a common SNR.
