VSMC from SHR and WKY rats were incubated in the absence (control) or presence of C-ANP_4–23 (10⁻⁷M) for 16 h. The cell lysates were prepared and used for Western blotting using specific antibodies against cyclin D1 (A), cdk4 (B), cyclin A (C), cyclin E (D) and cdk2 (E) as described in “Methods”. Results are expressed as % of WKY CTL taken as 100%. Values are means ± SE of 5 separate experiments. *P<0.05, **P<0.01, ***P<0.001.
