(A) Melanocyte precursors (MPs) in the control group are bipolar with small cell bodies and strong refractivity. (B) Following treatment with 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (VID) for 72 h, the cell bodies have increased in size and the dendrites extended, to provide cells with numerous levels of dendrites. (C) Cultured melanocytes are similar to VID-treated MPs, showing larger cell bodies and numerous dendrites (scale bar, 100 μm).
