Figure 5. — Expression levels of microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF), tyrosinase (TYR) and TYR-related protein-1 (TRP-1) in melanocytes (MCs) are significantly higher than those in melanocyte precursors (MPs), while the level of TRP-2 is similar in these two cell types. Following treatment with 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (VID), the expression levels of MITF, TYR and TRP-1 are significantly increased in the MPs; however, they remain lower than those in the MCs.
