Power-law scaling of Fisher's α for tree communities in central Panama, based on data from the 50 ha plot on Barro Colorado Island (BCI), the well-known tree flora of Barro Colorado Island (Croat 1978), and on inventories of 40 tree plots distributed across the Isthmus of Panama (http://www.ctfs.si.edu) conducted by R.
