C57BL/6J mice were gavaged with 10 μg of p40 in two pectin/zein beads (each bead contains 5 μg of p40) or two pectin/zein beads without p40 (control) beads. A, ADAM17 enzyme activity was evaluated from cell lysates of colonic epithelial cells collected from mice with no p40 treatment and 6 h and 24 h after p40-containing bead gavage.
