Coronal images of mouse kidneys before and after a 0.25-mmol kg–1 intravenous injection of (a) EuDOTA–, (b) EuDOTA-(gly)4−, and (c) EuTETA–. Although the EuDOTA– (fast exchange) and EuTETA– (no exchange) compounds show minimal renal darkening, the EuDOTA-(gly)4− (intermediate exchange) compound shows severe negative contrast due to T2 exchange.
