Cells of different type and origin were challenged for 90B. cereus ATCC 10876 (solid lines) or an isogenic mutant defective in the expression of the global regulator PlcR (dotted lines). Viability was assessed by the ability of cells to convert 3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide to purple formazan and is expressed as % of the untreated control.
